DWISL Child & Youth House Divisions - Fall 2008

DWISL's popular Timbits indoor house league begins its seventh Fall season on Sep 27th 2008.  All teams will play 12 * 50 minute house league games during this period at approximately the same time each week (see below for details of time windows). The 12 games will take place over a 12 or 15 week period depending upon the number of players registered. Subject to numbers of registrants, children born between 2001 and 2004 will be separated by year of birth and gender. Players born in 2001-2004 will have a 20-25 minute individual skills development clinic with a qulaified coach followed by a 25 minute game. Further information and details on registering and the programme can be found below the playing schedule table.

 Registrations may be mailed or delivered in person to the mailbox at DISC at 1289 Terwillegar Avenue, Oshawa L1J 7A4.  If paying by credit card and including payment details on the registration forms, they may be e-mailed or faxed to disc@rogers.com or 905 436 7759. FALL PLAYING SCHEDULE (TO BE KEPT FOR WINTER SESSION)

FEES

The Fees above cover Field Rental, Referees, Uniform Loan, Registration and GST. In an effort to re-cycle uniforms, and keep playing costs down to a minimum, players are asked to return their uniforms after their final games of the Fall or Winter session (if playing both sessions).  Players requiring a brand new uniform (as opposed to a re-cycled one) should add $15 to their registration fee.  

GAME FORMAT
Teams will play 50 minute games each week. Players will be rotated so that all players get equal field and goalkeeping time.  There are no practices.  Children born between 2001 and 2004 will receive 20-25 mins skill development followed by 25 minute game.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Each team requires a parent volunteer to ensure that all children receive equal playing time.  Please note that parent volunteers are timekeepers and not coaches. They do not assume responsibility for your child during the game time. Parents are required to be present in the facility at all times that their children are playing. Since parents are required to be present at all times your children are present, DISC does not screen timekeeper volunteers but does screen any employees involved in coaching.  

PLAYING WITH A BUDDY
Up to 3 individuals may request to play on the same team. These registrations must arrive together and must clearly indicate the request at the TOP of the registration forms.  Please note it may not be possible to accommodate last minute buddy requests especially where the request is made after rosters and schedules have been finalised.  It may also not be possible to accommodate a buddy request where to do so would in the convenor's opinion unfairly increase the strength of a particular team.

ROSTERS & SCHEDULES
Schedules will be published on the website and e-mailed to the e-mail address on the registration form 10 days before the first game and will be available in hard copy at DISC from your first game. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM A COACH. If you have not received information regarding the start of the program by 7 days before the start date, please e-mail disc@rogers.com and include in the e-mail the player name, gender and year of birth. The schedules will give the child's first name and the first two/three letters of their last name (to protect your child's privacy) plus all game times for the full Fall session.

If you do not have access to the internet, please attach a stamped, self addressed envelope to your registration and DISC will mail a hard copy of the roster and schedule to you.

DWISL reserves the right, at any stage of the season to move players within teams if, in the convenor's opinion any teams are inordinately under or over strength compared with other teams in their age group.

UNIFORM & FOOTWEAR
A full uniform (shorts, jersey, socks) is provided to youth and child players. This may be a new or recycled uniform. If you wish to guarantee a brand new uniform, please tick the box on the registration form, add $15 to your registration fee and arrive at DISC 45 minutes before your first game. Players not requiring a new uniform should arrive 30 minutes before their first game to pick up their uniform and have time to change before kick off.  Players may wear Soft Soled Running shoes or (clean) regular multi-stud outdoor cleats (no screw in studs).  Shinguards are MANDATORY and in accordance with OSA rules no player will be permitted to play without them. Players are requested to return their uniforms at the end of the season.

Family Discounts
Where three or more players of an immediate family (parents and non-adult siblings) all register for a session at DISC, the third and subsequent players shall receive a 10% discount.

Refund Policy
Cancellations made more than 30 days before session start are subject to a $25 administration fee. There are no refunds after this date, unless cancellation is on medical grounds supported by a Doctor's note in which case a pro-rated refund less $25 admin fee will be made.
